Saturday, December 8, 2012: 9:30 – 3:30 P.M. Chapel and the Atrium in Gibson Hall
December begins with its hurry, the noise, the clamor of activity — actually it has already begun. You may usually be tempted by the thought “I don’t have time for a retreat… for a quiet day in the reality of all I have to do!” In the midst of the long to-do list, the special events, the high expectations, we feel somewhat out of control yet when we are able to take the opportunity to be still, to accept a gift of quiet and of gentle waiting, the joy of Christmas is deeper, more profound.
Our Advent Retreat is a gift of quiet. We will offer that time for peace, a time to listen and to remember, a time to settle your hearts, souls, and minds to better feel the presence of God. This quietness can help to prepare for the miracle of God’s incarnation in Jesus Christ that we remember and celebrate at Christmas.
We will gather in the Chapel at 9:30 for Morning Prayer and use the Atrium in Gibson Hall for meditation and reflection. You might want to bring a notebook or journal. Lunch will be provided for $8.00.
Please sign up through the parish office.
