What's happening right now?

The job site at St. James’s East Expansion has been extremely busy the past few weeks.  We have had as many as eight different trades working at one time on the project so one can imagine how busy and congested the site can be at times.

We have started cutting the new door openings between the existing 1135 and new structure. We have poured half of the window well retaining wall (zigzag parking wall) and will complete the remainder this week.  Plumbers, electricians, and HVAC tradesmen continue to install their rough in systems and are making great progress.  The masonry contractor plans to really take over the site and load up with around 20 masons to get the brick work moving fast.  With that many masons, progress will be easily seen on a day to day basis.  Also this week the metal stair stringers and pans are being installed in both stair towers.

In about 3 weeks we will install the roofing as we push to “dry-in” the building. Over the next few weeks masonry work will continue, interior metal stud walls will start going up, and the mechanical, plumbing and electrical trades will continue to install their rough-ins. The windows and doors are on order with delivery expected early December.
