Children's Ministries Volunteer Opportunities

** There are many short and long term volunteer opportunities that keep the Children’s Ministries program running smoothly. Please check one or more of the categories below that you would be willing to help with during the 2008-2009 program year.

Check a box for each of the following that you are interested in:

	Serve on a Sunday School teaching team
	Serve as a substitute Sunday School teacher
	New Curriculum Team: Planning and implementing new Christian Formation curriculum for the 2009-2010 program year (Rotation Model and Godly Play)
	Christmas Pageant Committee: Assist with cast direction, costumes, props and production of the Pageant (Pageant date is tentatively set for December 21, 2008).
	Children’s Library: Organize current library offerings and research/order new titles for both children and parents. Plan for library space in new building.
	Parenting Forum Committee: Identify potential speakers and plan for forums (approximately 4 each year).
	Bulletin Boards: Design one bulletin board in the Education Building (approximately 4-5 different board designs each program year).
	Advent Fair: Help prepare crafts before Fair and staff work tables during Advent Fair (Fair will be held either November 23 or 30).
	Liturgy of the Word: Volunteer to lead one children’s worship service during the 11:15 a.m. service. Focus is on the Gospel of the day and child-directed prayers.
	Baptismal Covenant Ministries: Small group that meets 3-4 times a year to send special notes to children who have been baptized at St. James’s. Mailing sent during Lent, Advent and on the anniversary of their Baptism.
