Retreats and Pilgrimages

As a busy urban parish, it is essential that we take a break, as a community, and rest and refresh ourselves. This year we have two great opportunities to do so!

The Palestine of Jesus: A Pilgrimage to the Holy Land
July 21- August 3, 2009

This is a two-week travel tour of Israel and Palestine. 20 of us would be guided by fellow Anglicans who call Israel and Palestine home, while guests in the secure and lovely St. George’s Anglican College in Jerusalem. St. George’s College shares grounds with the Episcopal Cathedral in East Jerusalem and is a short walk from the Damascus and Herod’s Gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. We will explore Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee, Mount Tabor, the Judean Desert, and others. After focusing on the Galilean ministry of Jesus, our course will follow the Passion Narratives through visits to Bethany, the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of the Resurrection (Holy Sepulcher), with a devotional Way of the Cross. On the final day of the course we will celebrate the Resurrection, and the way of discipleship with a journey to Emmaus and a festive Eucharist.
