Reflecting on our past, the story of St. James’s is one of dedication, hope and steadfast faith. After our Sanctuary burned to the ground in 1994, we rebuilt our cherished spiritual home. Since then, we’ve flourished – welcoming nearly 100 new members each year. Our total membership now stands at over 2,100. St. James’s is truly bursting with blessings.

Inspired by the fire of the Holy Spirit, we now look forward to the future, intent on answering God’s continuing call for us. For several years, we nurtured the spark of an idea: expanding St. James’s to meet our growing needs. That spark became a flame: our master plan. Through the feasibility study, we honed our plans – and now, we fan these flames through the Fan the Flame capital campaign. The flame – a part ofour church seal – represents an unquenchable zeal.

Your generous pledge to our Annual Giving will support the current ministries of St. James’s and your pledge to Fan the Flame will enable the ministries of St. James’s to reach our community more broadly and more deeply, with facilities that accommodate our needs.

Lord Jesus, giver of all things, you have given us so much. You gave us back your church when we watched it go up in flames and thought it was gone forever. You have given us the will to spread your great love to others and shown us how we can do that by expanding our space. We need your help to do this. Open our hearts to give of ourselves and the gifts you have given us. Lord, let your Holy Spirit guide each of us as we reaise the money to care for all of your children. We thank you, Lord, for your great love; may it rule our hearts and minds, now and forever. AMEN

Stewardship Prayer

DISTURB US, LORD, when we are too well pleased with ourselves, When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little,

When we arrive safely because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us, Lord, when with the abundance of things we possess,

We have lost our thirst for the waters of life;

Having fallen in love with life, we have ceased to dream of eternity,

And in our efforts to build new Earth,

We have allowed our vision of the new Heaven to dim.

Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly, to venture on wider seas, where storms will show your mastery;

Where losing sight of land, we shall find stars.

We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes, and to push us in the future in strength, courage, hope, and love.

This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen
