Middle School Mini-Mission

(For current 5th – 8th graders)

July 17-20, 2024 (Friday lunchtime – Sunday dinnertime)

What: Harvest of Hope (www.endhunger.org)

Where: Exmore, VA

Who: Up to 18 youth currently 5th-8th grades & 4-5 adult leaders

Description: We will again partner with the organization Harvest of Hope to learn about the issue of hunger and how we are called to assist our neighbors in need. This time we’re going to Exmore, VA on the Eastern Shore. We will work in the fields together to harvest seasonal vegetables to donate to local food banks. What we harvest will likely be on the dinner table within 24 hours.  We will work hard and play hard…before we head home we will enjoy some recreation time together at the beach!

How to Apply: Complete the 2019 Summer Youth Missions Application and enclose a $50 deposit check payable to St. James’s Episcopal Church with the memo “Youth Mission.” Scholarships are available by contacting John McCard.  Space is limited and will be granted in the order applications are received.
